Why Choose Evexia for Your Child's Occupational Therapy

Evexia offers a personalised approach to navigating therapy into a fun and non-clinical experience for every child. We understand that neurodiversity and physical limitations restrict independence which can be challenging for both children and parents.

Evexia specialises in gross motor function which is the foundation of the human mind and body therefore we see positive and fast improvements in children across all skills including increased concentration, fine motor skills essential for school readiness and tasks such as handwriting and sensory processing including increased confidence to participate in other environments (physical education at school and team sports).

From Assessment to diagnosis and treatment Evexia’s practitioners have your family covered.

Comprehensive Assessment and Personalised Care Plans

Our Allied health team support parents through the booking process with initial assessments being scheduled with our Occupational Therapist Mikala. Our practitioners can provide a range of assessments including but not limited to functional capacity assessments, cognitive assessments, assistive technology, home environment, developmental milestone assessment and sensory processing difficulties. Assessment appointments vary depending on individual circumstances however once we have an understanding of your child’s current capacity, goals and any sensory processing challenges, we will discuss recommendations with you to ensure they align and are suitable to your current and future needs.

As our team work collaboratively our personalised approach means that families may work with various practitioners depending on specific goals, funding restrictions and to ensure we can provide the most suitable support to your family.

Family Centred Approach

At Evexia we have a family-centred approach that evaluates each component of a child’s life. We understand the importance of healthy family relationships in managing and adapting in complex situations and believe the whole family structure needs to be considered in paediatric therapy for maximum results.

Mobile Therapy Services

We offer at-home appointments for children who are unable to access or attend Evexia. The services we offer outside of Evexia replicate our in-house sessions and are a great option for children with social and generalised anxiety or children with sensory processing disorders. At-home services provide the opportunity for children to feel comfortable and to build rapport with their practitioners which then Increases social participation outside of sessions.

Community and School Involvement

Evexia runs Kids and Teens classes which are suitable for children between 5 and 16. These classes can be accessed by families working on gross motor skills, management of ADHD and social participation which can assist their progression towards their goals.

Evexia provides services within the school for Exercise Physiology and Occupational Therapy and will take part in stakeholder meetings to ensure that recommendations are suitable for children in all environments.

In-house Cold Water Immersion Therapy

Our allied health practitioners may include and recommend contrast therapy (cold water immersion to warm water) into your child’s routine to assist in the management of central nervous system dysregulation and neurological conditions, generalised anxiety disorder, sensory and emotional regulation issues and physical rehabilitation. This has proven to complement immune function, overstimulation and sleep hygiene which in turn can improve all aspects of your child’s day.
